This is a picture from 1998 of my wife Carol and myself in Saint Peter's Square (how do you like the little "cosmic halos" I added?) Our choir, the Saint George Chorus of Framingham, Massachusetts, USA, had just sung the Sunday morning Latin Mass at Saint Peter's, led by our wonderful director, Jim Romeo, and by Msgr. Colino, director of music for the Vatican, with Laura Romeo on the organ.
The next day, our choir journeyed to Assisi and sang a Mass at the Basilica of Saint Francis. During the Mass, Carol and I renewed our wedding vows, using words we ourselves wrote. It was a wonderful day. Not only for the renewal of the vows but also the wonderful gelato (Italian ice cream) we found nearby :)
Regretfully, Jim Romeo passed on in late 2002, but the choir still thrives under the capable leadership of his wife, Laura.
