Walking With Mother
by Neva Howell

Beneath the concrete of the sidewalk
is the Mother

Beneath the flooring at the office
and the flooring of the home
is The Mother

Beneath the metal of the car
and the asphalt on the highway
is The Mother

Beneath the belly of the plane
and the wide expanse of sky
is The Mother

Even in the midst of dreamtime
holding fast our Earth home body
while we travel outward, inward
is The Mother

There is never separation
Lightly tread with Sacred Prayer
The Mother

I recall this poem whenever circumstances cause in me a sense of separation from Earth energies. No matter where I stand, or what surface is directly beneath my feet, I always walk with Mother. So do you.
